One Out of Three Ain't Bad!

Posted on 20:11 by hony
NASA reported today that the first stage of their shiny new mega-rocket, the Ares I-X (everything sounds cooler when you add "X" to it), had a minor malfunction in two of three parachutes designed to gently lower the spent first-stage booster into the sea after the rocket jettisons it. This is the first test flight of the Ares rocket system. On a side note, every single Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo spacecraft reentered the Earth's atmosphere and deployed all three shoots without problem. 60 years of technological development later...not so much.

But trust them folks, they're the experts!
